Wichita Falls will host the Governor's Small Business Summit on Nov. 14 to support small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs, according to a media release from Gov. Greg Abbott.
The Wichita Falls Governor's Small Business Summit, titled “Celebrating Veteran-Owned Businesses and Entrepreneurs,” is a partnership between the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce and the Texas Workforce Commission.
“Small businesses are truly the heart of our communities and the backbone of Texas' fast-growing economy,” Abbott said in a media release Wednesday.

The city is one of 15 communities selected for the 2024 Governor's Small Business Summit.

The event is held throughout the year throughout the Lone Star State with the goal of providing business owners and entrepreneurs with resources and information to start, strengthen and grow their small businesses.
“Texas is home to 3.2 million small businesses, employing nearly half of Texas' workers. Texas is the state with the highest growth in small business employment, with businesses of all sizes We offer you the room to grow and succeed,” Abbott said in a media release.

Abbott congratulated the 15 selected host cities and the summit, which brings together small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs in the state “to take business to new heights for a bigger and better Texas.” He said he had invited him.

The event brings together local, state, and federal officials and offers sessions that provide insight on business topics. It also provides participants with the opportunity to network and meet experts.

Additionally, the Governor's Office of Economic Development and Tourism and the Office of Small Business Assistance will host the Governor's Small Business Webinar. They share information online about resources for small businesses and entrepreneurs in Texas.
