Cleveland County voters narrowed down the school board candidates who will appear on the November ballot in Tuesday's primary election.
Registered Republicans voted for five of the 13 candidates.
Gloria Sherman, Joel Shores, Ron Humphries, David Fisher and Kenneth Redford all plan to vote in the November general election.
The five will face Democrats Tracy Ross, Coleman Hunt and Rod Powell.
Incumbents Robert Queen, Greg Taylor and Rodney Fitch will not be elected on the November ballot and will end their terms.

Queen currently serves as chair of the school board.
Sherman received the most votes with 5,202 votes. Mr. Shores came in second with 4,905 votes, followed by Mr. Humphries, Mr. Fisher and Mr. Ledford with about 9% of the vote each.
Sherman said he doesn't know what the outcome of Tuesday's election will be, but he'll be at peace either way.
“I was determined to do my best and just gave it my all,” she said. “I prayed on and off for about two years, but finally decided to give it a try.”
Sherman said she loves her career in education and is excited about the opportunity to make a difference in the community.
“I love working in education and making a difference for students and teachers,” she said.
Ms. Sherman would like to thank those who actively collaborated with her campaign, including working at polling places, supporting her, and sharing their experiences with Ms. Sherman with others. He said he was there.
“I could never have done this without the support of my family, friends and community,” she said.
