SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah brand is hoping to capture the attention of America's most iconic couple, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey.
Started by a Provo couple, Thread Wallet is dedicated to custom designs for married couples.
Speaking exclusively to KSL-TV, the couple said they hope the idea will be incorporated into next season's football season.
“We were just thinking, what's the coolest, craziest thing we could do right now? We decided to make our product look like Taylor Swift,” said Mackenzie Bauer, co-founder of Thread Wallet. It was about getting it into your hands.”
For Bauer, it took 10 years to build the brand to get to this point.
Bauer's next step is to head to Etsy, buy some vintage Chiefs jerseys, find a Utah seamstress, and track down the right connections to help bring her ideas to life.
“One of the connections was someone who could bring the product to Travis Kelce and Pat Mahomes, so we designed the product,” Bauer said.
In hopes of getting the package to Kansas City before football season ends, Bauer and her husband booked a same-day ticket to the city.
“I took my luggage and took off. I went to the house of the person who said I could put it in a locker. Travis Kelce's room, or It’s Travis Kelce and Pat Mahomes’ locker,” Bauer said.
The next day, Bauer received a message that her package had been delivered to her locker.
But there's one problem
Kicker?
At this point, I don't know if I received the bag or not.
But in what may have been a bit of luck, they were able to get in touch with Travis Kelsey's brother.” — Jason Kelsey
They are currently working on sending him and his entire family a custom Philadelphia Eagles bag.
For Donna Kelce, Travis and Jason's mother, they designed a custom bag that sports half Chiefs and half Eagles.
“We have something in store for Travis and Taylor, so we hope we can make this happen in some way,” Bauer said.
Their hope is Swift, and the entire Kelsey family enjoys Utah sports.
“We're thrilled that next season one of our bags will be featured in the Kelce family. I mean, they're like American royalty right now. Like the Kelseys and Taylor Swift. We hope everyone will be wearing our products next season,” said Bauer.
Bauer said he plans to pick up the Eagles bag and send it to Jason Kelce and his family.
