UNC Health Pardee is pleased to welcome Karen Lewis, DNP, FNP-C, a board-certified family nurse practitioner, to Pardee BlueMD – 1409 Asheville Hwy. in Brevard. Ms. Lewis joins her eight other health care workers to provide primary care medical services to patients of all ages starting at age five.
Lewis, who was born in Pardee and raised in Hendersonville, believes the most important thing as a nurse is to listen to your patients and get to know them. “My favorite thing about my specialty is the variety of patients and conditions I might see on a typical day,” Lewis said. “I like working with patients as a partner in their health care and directing them to the right resources.” Having previously worked in the area, Karen returned to Brevard to connect with the patients she previously worked with and to direct them to appropriate resources. He said he was excited to be reunited with his staff. When not treating her patients, Ms. Lewis enjoys cooking and spending time outdoors with her family. She is accepting new patients. To make a reservation, please call her at 828-435-8400.
