Two men were charged with murder deadly gunfire at last week's Kansas City Chiefs parade, prosecutors announced Tuesday.
One woman was killed and 22 others were injured in the shooting near Union Station shortly after a rally to celebrate the Chiefs' Super Bowl victory.
Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker told reporters that one of the suspects, Lindell Mays, got into an argument with another person at the rally, and the argument escalated and Mays allegedly pulled out a handgun. He said there is.
Baker said some people pulled out guns, including Dominick Miller, the other suspect charged. Prosecutors said evidence shows Miller's gun was the one that allegedly killed the deceased victim. lisa lopez galvana 43-year-old mother of two and local radio DJ.
Both men are charged with second-degree murder and are being held on $1 million bail.
Baker said the investigation into the shooting remains ongoing.
“We're trying to hold all of these shooters accountable for their actions that day, each and every one of them,” Baker said. “So we're not there yet for every individual, but we're going to get there.”
