FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — The Bowen Center will reach four counties in northeastern Indiana in hopes of meeting the needs of rural communities for primary health care as well as mental health and addiction recovery. We are planning to expand.
Kylee Ricken, senior director of the Allen County Bowen Center, said the main reason for entering these communities is to serve low-income residents who need help with physical health needs. Stated.
“The health care system can be very difficult to navigate, especially for low-income people, so at Bowen Health Clinic, no one is turned away because they can't pay,” Rieken said.
The opening of these new clinics will allow Bowen to expand its reach in the community as well as expand all of its facilities as of April.
“We know that people with mental illness live 20 years less than people without mental illness, so we needed to do everything we could to solve this problem as quickly as possible,” said Rob, director of the Bowen Center. Official opening dates for Bowen Health Clinic's new facilities have not yet been set, but the public is welcome to attend ribbon-cutting ceremonies for each new facility. Each ceremony will be followed by a tour of the facility with refreshments and giveaways. A list of new locations and ribbon cutting dates is below.
- Angola – March 7, 11:30 a.m., 200 Hoosier Drive
- Albion – March 14, 11:30 a.m., 101 E Park Drive.
- LaGrange – March 21, 11 a.m., 836 N Detroit Street.
- Auburn – April 11, 10 a.m., 923 Cardinal Court.
