(The Center Square) – Texas continues to hold the No. 1 spot in nearly every top business ranking year after year and month after month. April was no exception.
This month, Texas was once again named the Best State for Business for a record-setting 20th consecutive year, and Time magazine recognized Governor Greg Abbott as one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
In its annual survey of more than 600 CEOs nationwide, Chief Executive Magazine once again ranks Texas as the No. 1 state with the best business climate in the United States.
In contrast, California continues to rank last this year, with companies continuing to leave the state in favor of Texas. The magazine cited Texas' no income tax and low regulations as reasons for its top and bottom rankings, while California's high taxes and extensive regulations.
After Texas earned the top spot for 20 consecutive years, Abbott said, “Texas is truly a great state for business and a model for the nation. Freedom is a magnet, and Texas is a great place to start a business.'' We provide home and the freedom for hard-working Texans to succeed. More innovative industry leaders have a competitive advantage found only in Texas when choosing a location to relocate or expand their business. I am aware of this.

Abbott is listed among 24 international political leaders on Time magazine's 2024 TIME100 list.
“In his nine years as Texas governor, he has proven adept at quelling backlash from the state's liberal enclaves while simultaneously throwing red meat to the conservative base,” Time said. said of Abbott. “All the while, he has deftly attacked Washington through both endless legal challenges and inflammatory stunts, such as sending buses full of immigrants into democratic cities.

TIME magazine's annual list honors the world's 100 most influential people, with “great impact” in several categories, including artists, icons, giants, leaders, innovators, and trailblazers. He claims to be a person.

Four Texas cities are ranked among the top in the country for career growth. Six of the 10 U.S. counties listed as workforce and economic powerhouses are in Texas.
Texas added the most jobs of any state in 2023, surpassing national employment records for a 12-month period. Every month, including last month, Texas broke previous records for the most jobs, the most workers, and the largest workforce in state history.
