(BRAIN) — Tern has entered a new category with Orox electric cargo bikes. It is designed to traverse off-road terrain while transporting passengers, adventure gear, or professional equipment.
The Orox features dual battery capability and a Bosch motor, giving it a range of nearly 200 miles.
“Six years ago, we introduced GSD because we believed a compact, easy-to-ride bike that could carry passengers and luggage would help people get from their cars to bikes,” said Tern team captain Josh Hong. said. “We made the right decision and we love seeing people do great things with GSDs in crowded cities, but at the same time, there are so many unpaved places that people want to go. We also noticed that they wanted to bring their equipment with them. On that trip, we built the Orox.”
The Orox is equipped with high-capacity tires that provide traction and comfort even on tough surfaces. When extreme conditions require special tires, the Orox frame and fork allows the rider to swap out his choice of 26 x 5-inch, 27.5 x 4-inch, or 29 x 3-inch wheels/tires. Designed. Sturdy fenders keep you and your bike clean no matter the conditions. A frame pack insulates the battery for optimal performance when temperatures drop.
Available in two frame sizes, the Orox fits riders from 5'1″ to 6'5″.
Orox has a maximum gross vehicle weight capacity of 462 pounds on-road and 397 pounds off-road.
In addition to recreational trips, Tarn said the Orox is an “ideal vehicle for organizations and businesses that need to move people and equipment to hard-to-reach locations, such as chainsaws and shovels for trail maintenance workers, and concerts. Whether it's medical equipment for on-site first responders or safety equipment for sporting events and first responders, Orox is built to get the job done.”
