CANTON – U.S. News & World Report has again selected SUNY Canton to the publication’s 2024 Best Online Programs list.
In a recently released ranking, the university was ranked 104th for Best Online Bachelor's Programs, tied with several other universities, including Old Dominion University and Villanova University. It was selected from among 1,800 institutions surveyed by this publication.
“We are proud that our outstanding programs continue to be recognized by U.S. News,” said SUNY Canton President Zvi Zahran. “Our online services are well positioned to meet the needs of today's learners and those who may be returning to university to pursue advanced degrees. It aligns well with our mission as an access institution that provides quality education to students from any station in their lives. ”
SUNY Canton's most popular online program is Cybersecurity, with 259 students enrolled in the fall 2023 semester. Applied Psychology follows closely with his 227 students. Online's explosive growth was first spearheaded by the Healthcare Management program, which enrolled 225 students in the fall semester.
SUNY Canton accommodates the demands of students' schedules by offering courses in a flexible, intensive learning environment. Flex courses offer students the opportunity to participate in class sessions in any format they choose for the day: on-location, live interactive, or at a later date. These changes in learning opportunities allow non-traditional students, students with accommodation needs, or students with difficult schedules to experience and gain knowledge delivered in a manner that best suits their needs. The university also garnered attention by ranking 60th in Best Online Bachelor's Programs for Veterans. SUNY Canton is his only college among the State University of New York and one of only three in the state to rank in this category, out of about 100 schools. This citation follows a highlight from Military Times magazine, which named SUNY Canton as one of the best schools in the nation for veterans in November 2023. The university had more than 150 military-related students last semester, many of whom enrolled online.
SUNY Canton ranked #106 on the list of Best Online Bachelor's Degrees in Business Programs. The university's online programs with the College of Business and Liberal Arts include accounting, business administration, early childhood education and management, esports management, and management.
