E-commerce platform Shopclues is targeting USD 100 million in export sales by the end of the year. The Gurgaon-based company aims to take Indian brands to the global market and is aggressively working to showcase artisans online.
“Our target is to have e-commerce exports of $100 million by the end of the year and we are confident that we will achieve this target,” Shopclues managing director Anurag Gambhir told India Retailing. “Today, if small and medium-sized Indian brands want to go global, we are the platform they need to turn to.”
Currently, Shopclues' export business has sales of $12 million and it aims to raise that to $100 million by the end of the year. The company also plans to expand its sourcing capabilities and is working with the Indian government to bring artisans and MSMEs online.
Founded in 2011, Shopclues was acquired by Singapore-based online marketplace Qoo10 in 2019. The acquisition enabled Shopclues to leverage Qoo10's Southeast Asian network for cross-border commerce. The platform currently has over 1.1 million registered sellers.
“Qoo10's vision has always been focused on cross-border trade,” Gambhir said. “Our strength lies in facilitating seamless and fast cross-border trade.”
