Wednesday's shooting after the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl victory parade was just the latest example of violence erupting during victory celebrations.
Here are other shootings over the past decade that have occurred on the night a team won a league title or during parades and rallies that followed.
June 2016: Cleveland Cavaliers
A man was shot twice in the leg during a parade and rally for the Cavaliers' NBA championship, causing non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
June 2019: Toronto Raptors
Four people were shot and injured during a rally for the NBA champion Raptors in downtown Toronto. Police said another person also suffered minor injuries as they tried to escape the gunfire.
October 2020: Los Angeles Dodgers
On the night the Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series, two people were shot and killed in Sylmar, California. The families of Juan Carlos Guillen and Marco Antonio Vasquez said they were trying to stop people from smashing car windows with baseball bats.
July 2021: Milwaukee Bucks
On the night the Bucks won their first NBA title in 50 years, two shootings left three people injured in downtown Milwaukee. Police said the injuries are not life-threatening. The shooting occurred across the Milwaukee River from the Bucks' home arena, Fiserv Forum.
June 2022: Denver Nuggets
Two people were injured in a shooting in downtown Denver after the Nuggets' championship parade last year, but police said they do not believe the incident was related to the celebration.
October 2022: Texas Rangers
An altercation resulted in shots fired in a parking lot near the Rangers' World Series championship parade, but no one was injured.
