Strengthening e-commerce business systems is one of the goals of the National Transformation Program to help Saudi Arabia achieve its Vision 2030. E-commerce plays a key role in strengthening the national economy, with Saudi Arabia ranked among the top 10 growing countries in this sector.
The Ministry of Commerce aims to stimulate the e-commerce market, increase confidence in trade, protect customer rights, promote growth and contribute to the goals of Vision 2030.
The Ministry is supporting entrepreneurs in transitioning from traditional to e-commerce through organizations that provide services in empowerment, electronic payments, digital marketing, technology solutions, e-marketplaces, logistics solutions and e-store development platforms. The lead organization in this effort is the E-Commerce Council, which aims to increase the credibility of e-commerce, increase its contribution to the national economy and stimulate e-commerce activity in Saudi Arabia.
E-commerce, being a 24-hour marketplace, saves time and effort in online shopping, provides access to goods and services with a variety of options in a transparent and competitive environment, and wins consumer trust.
