Dr. David Newman, medical director of virtual care at Sanford Health, participated in the webinar along with Zil Joyce Dixon Romero, state government affairs manager for the National Rural Health Association (NRHA), and Brock Slabach, NRHA chief operations officer. Masu.
Newman, Romero, and Sbach examine the various factors that lead to rural clinic closures and emphasize that while the reasons are complex, the solutions are achievable. This webinar aims to provide participants with valuable insights into effective telehealth policies and practices that can strengthen the viability of rural healthcare organizations. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how to strike the delicate balance between embracing technological advances and ensuring the long-term sustainability of health services in rural areas. In addition to his role as virtual care medical officer, Newman practices endocrinology at Sanford Health in Fargo, North Dakota. He is also an assistant professor of medicine at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine, School of Health Services.
