American distributor Republic National Distributing Company (RNDC)'s e-commerce platform generated US$800 million in 2023, with lifetime sales reaching US$1.7 billion.
Monthly active customers on the platform increased 32% year over year.
ERNDC is available in 21 U.S. states and features approximately 7,000 brands. The platform uses artificial intelligence to power search engines and product recommendations, creating a personalized shopping experience for each customer.
Nick Mehall, President and CEO, said: “Many of our customers are now embracing business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce as a means to complement their engagement with us. ERNDC has seen significant market adoption over the past 12 months.
“RNDC has invested in this unique platform over the past several years to meet the demands and complexity of the industry, and the results show that our strategy is firmly in place.”
RNDC also gained insights through the platform and found that on-trade accounts search for products by spirits category, while off-trade accounts tend to search by brand.
It also noted an increase in searches for premium spirits, super-premium and ultra-premium spirits.
“As we move into 2024, we expect more customers to use this platform to discover products and brands,” said Emily Hsu, the company's senior vice president of e-commerce.
“Additionally, more and more suppliers are incorporating B2B platforms like ERNDC as a component of their commercial strategy.”
RNDC is investing in e-commerce platform Thirsty in 2022, which it says will bring a “compliant, technology-driven and more efficient approach” to the alcohol industry.
Last year, RNDC acquired Young Won Trading Distribution.
