PARKERSBURG — Ritchie Community Health Center and Jefferson Elementary School Center have announced a new partnership to provide health care services to students, families and staff.
Organizers said the collaboration, facilitated by the Mid-Ohio Valley Chamber of Commerce's Education Partners Program, will improve school communities' access to critical health resources.
“Our goal is to enhance the educational experience of our students while taking care of their physical and mental health.” said Amy Yokum, CEO of Ritchie Regional Health Center.
“Ritchie Community Health Center has been serving Jefferson Elementary School and the community since 2006 with a school-based health center located on school campuses.” Yokum said.
“We are excited about this opportunity to strengthen our partnership with our students and staff.” she said.
Principal Tina Lowers said Jefferson Elementary School is fortunate to partner with Ritchie Community Health Center.
“Having access to medical services on campus is of great benefit to students, families, and staff alike. It not only provides convenience and accessibility, but also promotes overall health within our school community.” Lowers said. “Partnerships like this are essential to ensure the well-being of everyone involved in the educational environment.”
Ritchie Regional Health Center was established in 1994 and provides primary care services in eight schools in Doddridge, Pleasants, Ritchie and Wood counties. six are designated school-based health centres;
