CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — National Small Business Week kicked off Monday across the country and right here in the Coastal Bend.
The United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce and the City of Corpus Christi will host a week of free seminars to empower local entrepreneurs. Seminars will focus on topics such as the use of Internet tools, finance, and leadership skills for small business owners.
Monica Stuber, director of the U.S. Small Business Administration's Corpus Christi office, said there are a wide range of resources available to small businesses and she is honored to advocate for them.
“It is an honor to celebrate our small businesses,” Stuber said. “I'm a champion of small business and I know that it's a huge burden, not just on entrepreneurs, but on entrepreneurs' families. So we want to thank them for everything. Because… Be where they are today, because without them our community wouldn't exist.''
On Tuesdays, lunch will be served and learning will focus on cybersecurity for small businesses. It will be held at the Coastal Bend Business Innovation Center at noon.
