Loyola's baseball team suffered its first loss of the season on Friday with a 5-2 victory over La Salle (7-1).
Donnie Morgan had two hits and two RBIs. Augie Lopez hit a single and a home run. Samuel Gonzalez also added two hits. Alex Stern pitched 5 1/3 innings of hitless relief.
Huntington Beach 9, Fountain Valley 3: For the Oilers, Linkin Garcia and Trent Grindlinger each had three hits.
Villa Park 4, Esperanza 0: The Spartans recorded their fourth straight shutout, led by Aaron Sambas, who allowed three hits with 12 strikeouts and no walks.
Prosper 5, Mater Dei 4: In Texas, Ezekiel Lara had three hits for the Monarchs and scored three runs in the seventh inning to make it a close game.
Cleveland 3, Marshall 1: Kayden Rieple pitched a complete game with four strikeouts to lead the Cavaliers.
Bishop Amat 8, Gardena Serra 1: Raymond Perez had a home run and three RBIs for Bishop Amato.
Royal 2, Simi Valley 1: A two-strike, two-run double by Ryan Ulmen in the seventh inning gave Simi Valley a 6-2 lead, but darkness stopped the game and the score went back to the sixth inning, with Royal winning. Isaiah Tillman drove in both runs for Royal.
Trabuco Hills 6, Marina 4: Daniel Van de Kriek had three RBIs for Trabuco Hills.
La Mirada 10, Bonita 0: Kevin Chong had three RBIs for La Mirada.
6 hearts, San Marcos 5: Matt Perez and Eddie Gutierrez each had two hits.
Arcadia 7, Burbank 0: Nando Palencia had 13 strikeouts in five innings.
Westlake 20, Sylmar 0: The Warriors improved to 8-0. Noah Stead hit three home runs and had eight RBIs.

Garden Grove Pacifica 3, Orange Lutheran 0: In Arizona, UCLA's Kaniyah Bragg hit two home runs to lead the undefeated Mariners. Pacifica (7-0) then defeated West Valley 5-1. Annika Sogusti had two hits.
Norco 2, Douglas 0: For Arizona, freshman Coral Williams pitched well with two hits and seven strikeouts. Norco then defeated Murrieta Mesa 11-1.
