Scottie Scheffler has a chance to make history this week at The Players, but who can stop him from winning back-to-back titles at TPC Sawgrass?

The American chef extended his dominance at the top of the world rankings with his win at Bay Hill, and Scheffler is now aiming to become the first player in history to successfully defend his title at The Players.
Scheffler won last year's contest by five strokes and is widely expected to score another victory this week at the PGA Tour's flagship event, where most of the world's top 50 players will compete and the winner will take home $4.5 million. has been done.
Recent winners at TPC Sawgrass include Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas and Cameron Smith, but who has the best chance of beating Scheffler for glory?
we, sky sports Pundits will be choosing the surprise package this week that could win…
Andrew Coltart
”Can Will Zalatoris win because he's a pretty good tee shot, he's a great iron player, he's getting the hang of a new putter, and he's got everything in his golf bag?
“He didn't have a bad week at all at Bay Hill, it's just that things didn't go the way he wanted because he was up against a steam locomotive at Schaeffler.”

“My outside pick would be Max Homa. He had a lackluster start to the year so it might be seen as an odd pick, but I could imagine him turning things around.
“From tee to green he can play sublimely and if he can find his best form, it could be the course that suits him.”
Dame Laura Davies
”Min Woo Lee hits a mile – and he definitely needs a long hit near Sawgrass. He's been playing really well this year and had good results at The Players before.
“He won the tournament in Australia late last year and I think he has the game where he can spring a surprise. For me, even if he has a really good week , which shouldn't be that big of a surprise.”
nick doherty
“Shane Lowry has had near miss after near miss recently at the Cognizant Classic and the Arnold Palmer Invitational, so there's a good chance he'll be third time lucky.
“He plays great golf and loves the golf course. He will bring his creativity, especially around the greens. To me, Shane is the guy who will deliver that surprise package at TPC Sawgrass.”
rich beam
“Ludwig Overberg has won every game in the world and just broke into the top 10 in the world. Could he be the next first-time winner of The Players?”
