The Frenchman, who won the GT Le Mans IMSA Sports Car Championship class title with the German manufacturer in 2015, shared the Vector LMP2 ORECA-Gibson 07 with Stéphane Richelmi and Ryan Cullen and won 16 races in the French Enduro. This will be the first start.
Gabriel Aubry, who was part of Vector's WEC P2 line-up last year, was initially listed in the car but was not expected to be in the team's line-up for Le Mans on June 15/16.
Felipe Dolgovic, Aston Martin F1's test and reserve driver, competes in the European Le Mans Series alongside Richelmi and Curren, but was never part of Vector's 24-hour race plans.
Vector team boss Gary Holland said:
“His previous experience in both LMP2 and GT will be invaluable as we aim for the top at La Sarthe.”
Holland also thanked Porsche for allowing Pilet, 42, to drive.
Mr Pilet added: “I’m really looking forward to working with the team at Vector Sport.

“We have known each other for a while and after trying to work together for a while, I am very happy to have this opportunity.
“Le Mans is my favorite race and I am very motivated to fight for victory in the very competitive LMP2 class.”
This year's Le Mans will be Pilet's fifth major race in a P2 Oreca.
He drove for the IDEC team from 2000 to 2022 and moved to Graf last year.
Prior to that, he was a stalwart of Manthey's Porsche Factory GTE Pro team, racing its 911 RSR every year since 2013.
IMSA Sports Car Championship regular Romain de Angelis will make his Le Mans debut with the Algarve Pro Racing LMP2 team.
