CASPER, Wyo. — Summer is just around the corner, and countless summer activities are just around the corner. Banner Wyoming Medical Center and its community partners helped families prepare Saturday at their annual Spring into Safety event.
The American Red Cross, Casper-Natrona County Health Department, Mercer Family Resource Center and other local organizations were on hand to provide health and safety tips and information to families. Members of several emergency agencies, including the Casper Fire and Rescue Department and the Casper Police Department, also participated, offering their own safety tips and letting the children in attendance explore fire trucks, ambulances, and other emergency vehicles. “As summer approaches, we want to help families by providing them with the tools they need to keep their children as safe as possible,” said event organizer and RN Trauma Outreach Coordinator Heather MacDonald. I want to do that,” he said.
The event also made sure to provide plenty of fun and games for young attendees, with many booths displaying carnival games and giveaways.
McDonald said the event had about 400 participants, which was similar to previous years.
