The Pasadena City Council and Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) Board of Education will hold a special joint meeting at Pasadena City Hall on Monday, April 29, according to a public notice.
The meeting will begin with the City Council at 6 p.m., and will include several topics related to collaboration between the school district and the city.
The agenda includes a presentation from PUSD on school grounds maintenance, including information on gardening and landscaping.
In another item, we discuss the potential for affordable housing for PUSD faculty and staff, focusing on AB 2295 and SB 35.
AB 2295, also known as the Teacher Housing Act of 2016, would allow school districts to develop on-site affordable housing for employees by exempting projects from certain local zoning and planning requirements. Streamline your processes.
Enacted in 2017, SB 35 aims to address California's housing shortage by streamlining the approval process for housing developments in cities that fail to meet state-mandated housing goals.
Monday's meeting will also provide an update on career technical education and apprenticeship partnerships.
Public comments during the meeting will be limited to the topics of the special joint meeting.
Mayor Victor M. Goad and PUSD Board of Education President Kimberly Kenne will preside over the meeting.
Free on-street parking will be available on the streets around City Hall from 5pm, and free child care will be provided to participants. The meeting will be broadcast live on Cable Channel 3. online here.
