GeM CEO PK Singh underlined the importance of this milestone and underlined the ministry's dedication to embracing change and contributing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a self-reliant India. In line with GeM's commitment to promote social inclusion, the Ministry of Defense awarded 50.7 per cent of the total orders amounting to Rs 60,593 crore to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSEs). This significant allocation to MSEs will help propel the Indian economy towards self-reliance and foster entrepreneurship in the defense sector.
Since its inception, the MoD has been an active participant in GeM, with close to 19,800 MoD buyers from different parts of the country including remote areas like the North-Eastern states, Leh-Ladakh and various island territories. doing.
