OPELOUSAS, La. — Opelousas Integrated Health System welcomes a new season this weekend.
The Medical Facility's 17th Annual Community Health & Resources Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at South City Park, 1524 South Market Street.
OGHS, along with other health companies, will provide resources and free health screenings, including thermal vein screening to detect venous problems in the lower extremities through the Southern Heart and Vascular Institute. Mary Byrd Perkins of Opelousas Comprehensive Cancer Center provides information about the importance of cancer screening and early detection. Acadian Ambulance provides details on “Stop the Bleed.” There is also information from Medicaid regarding eligibility and re-enrollment guidance.
OGHS dietitians will provide nutritional information and parents will receive immunization records. Second Harvest Making Groceries Mobile Although his market will not be held at the venue, free fresh produce will be provided to the first 100 attendees.
There will also be fun jumping, face painting, cookie decorating and photos with the Easter Bunny. The Easter egg hunt will be held at 11 a.m. The first 250 people will receive a free T-shirt.
