NYC Health + Hospitals/Coler opens wellness room to provide emotional and mental health support for long-term care staff
The private space offers an ambiance that rivals most spa lounges, with aromatherapy, modern lounge-style furniture, soothing colors, and windows depicting natural green landscapes.

NYC Health + Hospitals/Coler opens new dedicated wellness room to support the physical and mental health of more than 700 employees, serving 5-star nursing homes and rehabilitation centers It offers. In the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, wellness rooms have become an essential resource for overall well-being for staff seeking respite from the stresses of work and life. This new permanent space offers a relaxing space for busy staff, including a coffee machine, aromatherapy, gentle music, fruit-infused water, healthy snacks, and designated areas for creative activities and healthy conversations between colleagues. Includes amenities designed to relieve stress. The private space offers an ambience comparable to most spa lounges, featuring aromatherapy, modern lounge-style furniture, soothing tones, and windows adorned with natural green landscapes. Her co-design partner, WXY Studios, focused on comfort and functionality to create a welcoming space that encourages staff to spend time on self-care. The wellness room also includes art from the health system's art collection installed by the Department of Medical Arts.
