Good news for Malaysians! India has announced that it will waive visa fees for Malaysian nationals on 30-day, double-entry e-Tourist visas. The move will be valid up to June 30, 2025, the Indian High Commission said in a press release.
Previously, Malaysians had to pay RM465 (Rs 8,186) to obtain an e-visa.

“There will be no visa fee only for e-tourist visa. However, for all other e-visa categories like e-business, e-conference, e-medical, e-healthcare worker, e-Ayush and e-emergency, the existing visa rules will continue as is,” the statement said.
Applications must be submitted online through the Indian Visa Portal and e-Tourist visas must be used within 120 days of issue.
What are the Malaysian Visa Requirements for Indian Citizens?
Like India, Malaysia offers different types of visas to Indian passport holders depending on the purpose of visit. However, Indian tourists can enjoy visa exemption for travel to Malaysia until December 31, 2024.
To avail this exemption, you must ensure that your passport has at least six months validity and submit your Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) online at least three days before entering Malaysia.

How to apply for an e-Visa
Stage 1: Online application
1. Visit the portalVisit: https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa
2. Choose a Mission: Select the Indian mission for which you wish to apply.
3. Fill out the form: Please fill in the online application form with accurate details. Incomplete or inaccurate information may result in your application being rejected.
Four. Generate web file number: Once you submit the form a web file number will be generated.
Five. Printing applications: Print the completed application form.
Stage 2: Photo Upload Guidelines
Follow the guidelines provided on the visa portal and follow the specific steps for uploading your photo.
Stage 3: Submission at Visa Service Centre
1. Visit VSC: Submit the printed application form, supporting documents and photographs to an Indian Visa Service Centre (VSC) in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru or Penang.
2. Payment of fees: e-Tourist visa fees are waived, but other fees may apply depending on your visa type.
