New School of Business Administration Dean Shu Schiller receives recognition from his alma mater, Temple University.
Mr. Schiller received the 2024 PhD Alumni Leadership Award from the Fox School of Business, where he received his doctorate in information systems in 2007.

“I am very honored to receive the PhD Alumni Leadership Award,” said Schiller. “Many people helped me grow during my time at Temple and continued to mentor and mentor me after graduation.”
Schiller assumed the position to lead the School of Business earlier this month, but most of her career has been at Wright State University. She joined the faculty at the University of Dayton, Ohio in 2006, while she was midway through her Ph.D. in Information Systems, received her tenure, served as department chair, and found her way into administrative positions. She spent nearly four years as associate dean of Wright State University's Raj Soin College of Business before becoming interim dean of the school's School of Graduate Programs and Honors Studies in 2022.
She believes her time at Temple helped lay the foundation for her future. She is a first-generation college student from China who earned a Bachelor's degree in Management Engineering and a Master's degree in Management Science from Beijing Institute of Technology and came to the United States to pursue her Ph.D.
“Studying at Temple and earning my doctorate in information systems was a dream come true for me,” Schiller said. “The school has provided great support for me to succeed. I am grateful for the assistantship and the opportunity to work with distinguished academics in the business world.”
Mr. Schiller is eager to take on his new role at UMSL, where he will help promote student success and work with the local business community to ensure the university develops graduates who can meet the region's workforce needs. We are committed to making it possible.
