The team behind Netflix's “Quarterback” has teamed up again for “Receiver,” a new offering that takes a deep dive into the NFL.
The series, a sequel to the 2023 sports documentary series, will follow five of the NFL's best pass catchers on and off the field during the 2023 season. Specifically, this documentary series will focus on: Davante Adams Las Vegas Raiders, justin jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings, Amon Ra St. Brown of the detroit lions george kittle and deebo samuel A member of the San Francisco 49ers.
“From passing to catching is a natural progression, so we're excited to jump into the world of Receiver after the success of our Quarterback series,” said Gabe Spitzer, vice president of nonfiction sports at Netflix. Ta. press release. “NFL Films and Omaha Productions have once again helped identify a unique and dynamic athlete who will further enhance the drama of our sport on and off the field.”
“Last summer, audiences around the world were thrilled to watch us dive into the lives of NFL quarterbacks,” said Joe Zucco, the NFL film's supervising producer. “We believe the extraordinary skill, dedication and passion of the NFL's great wide receivers and tight ends make for the perfect follow-up.”
“Just like we did with 'Quarterback,' we're looking forward to telling the stories of five great receivers, each with their own unique personalities, skill sets and motivation to be the best.” said Peyton Manning.
“Receiver” will premiere in summer 2024 and consist of eight 45-minute episodes. The series is produced by NFL Films, Omaha Productions and 2PM Productions.
Peyton Manning and Jamie Horowitz will executive produce the project at Omaha Productions, and Patrick Mahomes will produce the EP at 2PM Productions. Ross Ketover, Pat Kelleher and Keith Koslow will serve as executive producers for the NFL film.
