Northern Arizona University is now accepting applications for a new fully online program that provides a pathway to securing a Standard Arizona Physical Education teaching credential for those who already have a bachelor's degree in another field. The program was approved in December by the Arizona Department of Education and is the only alternative to a physical education certification available in the state.
Many physical education teachers in Arizona and across the country have bachelor's degrees in fields other than physical education and teach on an emergency or temporary basis. These physical education teachers may be required by the school district to obtain a physical education teacher license within a certain period of time.
