Ross County have enjoyed visiting Leith to play Hibernian over the past few years.
Goals from George Harmon and Alex Iacovitti led to a 2-0 win in November 2022, and in October last year, Jordan White came back from a 2-0 deficit to draw 2-2. A stunning volley from the Reds gave Malky Mackay's side a point in the capital.
Fans were optimistic ahead of Saturday's trip to Easter Road based on Leith and County's recent record with four points from their last two games.
However, in the second half, an unlikely mistake by George Wickens led to Myazin Maolida scoring, and Dylan Levitt added Hibs' second goal in the closing stages, putting County in contention.
Despite the defeat, there are positives to be taken from Don Cowie's reign so far. Cowie has had to learn on the field as his team's five games have been tough against top-six teams.
They have improved their form since the sacking of manager Derek Adams, who had one win, one draw and three losses, with just one point from their last five league games. County also scored more goals and conceded fewer goals overall in Cowie's five games in charge compared to his predecessor's last five games.
Statistics show that there has been an improvement in both performance and results under the caretaker manager.
Cowie's record might have looked even better had it not been for his defensive mistakes against St Mirren and Hibs. He wants to right these wrongs and see his team get revenge when Hibs travel to Dingwall on March 13.
