Scholarships will be awarded next year. His initial $5,000 funding for the program will be split into three scholarships: two $1,250 undergraduate scholarships and one $2,500 graduate scholarship.
Award winners are selected by 100 Hispanic Women, a nonprofit, nonpartisan women's organization comprised of members from a wide range of industries and interests.
“Everyone needs help getting into college,” said Molloy College President James Lentini. “This collaboration will help fund scholarships and other programs we develop for Hispanic students. It will help,” he said in a news release about the new scholarship.
