On Monday, a mobile medical education unit (MMEU) was stationed along Kalama Park to provide mental health services, food stamps, non-serious wound care, clothing and more to Maui's homeless community.
From Mahalo to our community partners:
Aloha House: Provided substance abuse and mental health services to 16 clients and one-on-one services to four clients.
Pastor Maui: Provided 16 clients with information about housing and other available services.
Ministry of Education: Distributed food and hygiene kits, sunscreen, and other personal care items.
Goodwill Maui: Provided information about free services available to 16 clients.
Life Wireless: Provided 16 clients with information about free government services and distributed two phones.
Maui AIDS Foundation: Distributing hygiene kits and Narcan.
Maui Humane Society: Provided a variety of services to 18 clients. Food, collars, leashes, harnesses, vaccinations and microchips were distributed.
Project Vision: Provided information about SNAP benefits to 16 clients.
The MMEU will provide services in Karama Park from 9am to 12pm on Mondays until March.
