Croke Park's pitch manager said it would be a “great day” to see England's first rugby club play on the ground.
Northampton Saints will face Leinster in the Champions Cup semi-final on Saturday at Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) headquarters.
Stuart Wilson supports Saints and is from Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, but looks after the pitch at the Dublin stadium.
He said his wife and two sons would be at the game. [Leinster] Unfortunately it's blue. ”
He will have some support as his parents will be coming from England to support the Saints.
Wilson said it was “unbelievable” to see the Saints play on the ground.
“Being a Saints fan and to be honest playing some rugby, it was great and it was a big hit.” [here]I was a rugby player, so it's nice to actually be around rugby again,” he said.
He said: “It's going to be a great day…our boys are really looking forward to it.
“I think everyone does. There's been a lot of buzz about this match, so I hope it's a great match.”
He also said players and fans who have never visited Croke Park will see an “incredible” ground.
“Everyone who comes to the stadium for the first time is surprised. It's an amazing place.”
He said it would be great for him and his team to be pitchside and “watch the game up close”.
“It would be very interesting just to see the performance of another sport and pitch,” he added.
