Microsoft Education announces product updates focused on AI and security
At its annual “Reimagine Education” 2024 digital conference, Microsoft Education will introduce artificial intelligence and security, aimed at helping teachers and preparing students for future careers where AI will play a key role. We announced several new features for the tool.

Education product updates include:
- Expanding Copilot audience with commercial data protection and Copilot for Microsoft 365 — Purchase of Copilot as an add-on for students 18 and older begins April 1, with a private preview for younger students available in the spring It will be.
- Reading Progress and Microsoft Teams for Education can be upgraded at no additional charge. Rubrics, assignment instructions, personalized reading passages (students can create their own story and choose the direction of the story), and learning objectives.
- Math Progress — A new feature currently in private review that will soon be followed by Math Coach, a student tool that provides real-time help and math problem solving.
- AI for Educators Learning Path — A new tool for educators to learn more about AI's potential to improve literacy and engagement.
- Microsoft AI Education Toolkit — Free resource for leaders developing AI plans for educational institutions. Includes examples, case studies, and resources to get started.
- Microsoft Defender for Endpoint — Security features for Microsoft 365 A5 customers to protect student devices.
- Minecraft AI Prompt Lab, Module 2 — How educators can teach coding lessons with Code Builder and use the Make Code Python editor.
- Microsoft Copilot for Security — Helping security and IT professionals improve their skills to identify problems, respond faster, and collaborate with colleagues. To learn more, watch the March 13th “Security for Everyone in the Age of AI” event.
