Franciscan Health Crown Point and Michigan City are offering a new monthly stroke support group for stroke survivors, their families and caregivers.
The Michigan City group will meet at 2 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month starting Tuesday, March 12, in the Mother Maria Theresa Conference Room at Franciscan Health Michigan City, 3500 Franciscan Way, Central District. Participants can park in the main entrance parking lot and enter through Entrance A.
The Crown Point group will meet at 1 p.m. Held on the first Wednesday of each month in San Damiano Conference Room B at the new Franciscan Health Crown Point, 12750 St. Francis Drive. The next session is scheduled for his April 3rd. Attendees can park at the front entrance and enter from there.
The group aims to provide the community with resources to help stroke survivors and their caregivers maximize their quality of life and independence through education, encouragement, hope, and understanding.
Guest speakers present educational information about stroke recovery during monthly sessions, and a Christmas party is held in December to celebrate the successful completion of the program.
Support groups are free and do not require pre-registration.
