MARIETTA — Memorial Health Foundation's 19th annual fashion show, Havana Nights, raised a record amount of money, the foundation announced.
The April 12 event, hosted by Eramet, brought together businesses, cancer survivors and their loved ones for an evening in support of two cancer center patient initiatives.
The show was sold out for the first time since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, with all 750 tickets sold out weeks before the show. According to the foundation, more than $132,000 was raised, a record amount.
“It is a true honor for me and my entire team to raise awareness for Memorial Health Foundation and raise money for local patients.” said Jarrett Stull, executive director of Memorial Health Foundation.
“This community is so generous, especially considering the weeks of flooding we endured. The event had about 800 people and raised over $132,000, which says it all. think.” He said. “It’s a real honor to be able to do something like this for the community.”
The annual fashion show was held at Marietta College's Dyson Bode Recreation Center and included a buffet provided by Parkhurst Dining. Approximately 800 people attended and watched as cancer patients and survivors walked down the runway modeling clothing from local retailers.
All proceeds will be donated to the Foundation's Breast Health and Cancer Emergency Patient Initiatives to help with transportation, wigs, mammograms, necessary dental care, and other essential patient needs. In the first quarter of 2024, Memorial Health Foundation was able to support 68 of her patients and provide more than $17,000 in funding to those fighting cancer.
