Defending champion Jon Rahm said he is looking forward to competing against the world's best players to retain his Masters title at Augusta next month.
The Spaniard added that he hopes for a future where PGA Tour players and rival LIV Golf can “coexist”.
Rahm was banned from PGA Tour events after defecting to LIV in December.
“I just want to see the best players in the world being able to compete against the best players in the world again,” he said.
Talks between the PGA and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), which funds LIV Golf, continued on Monday to further advance a potential merger.
The PGA Tour and DP World Tour announced plans for a surprise merger with PIF in June, but an agreement was not reached by the original deadline of December 31, 2023.
Rahm, 29, can only compete in four majors against his former PGA rivals until a solution is found.
“I'm really looking forward to joining the rest of the world's best golfers and teeing it up at the Masters,” Rahm said.
“I'm sure there are quite a few people who are not happy, but from my side, nothing has changed. I still respect everyone on both sides, and most of all I respect the game of golf.
“I think there are ways to coexist, and if there is some kind of union, I don't know what that looks like.
“I think if some kind of peace is achieved, we can actually move the game forward.”
The Masters begins April 11, and Rahm is trying to become the fourth player to hold the title, and the first since Tiger Woods accomplished the feat in 2001-02.
Rahm won three PGA titles last season and has posted top-10 finishes in all four starts in 2024 following his move to LIV Golf.
“For everyone who said this would be easy, it was easy at times, but not being able to defend some titles that meant so much to me was not easy,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to a great week and a back nine showdown on Sunday against some great players, because at the end of the day, that’s what the golf and the crowd deserve.”
