Mansfield is working with FC Dallas and REV Sports Management to “bring elite sports and entertainment to Mansfield” in the construction of the multipurpose soccer stadium complex approved by voters last year.
At Monday's City Council meeting, councilors approved a partnership with FC Dallas and REV Sports Management to assist in the operation and design of the soccer complex.
According to the city, REV will provide consultation on venue management and design and construction after construction. REV is also supporting the design and construction in partnership with FC Dallas, and the MLS team will also lead all sports programming at the facility, including youth soccer and international tournaments.
Mansfield City manager Joe Smolinski said: “This partnership will ensure this stadium will be home to a variety of sports from day one.” “The teamwork between City Council, REV Sports Management and FC Dallas is an exciting initiative as we continue to work together to bring elite sports and entertainment to Mansfield.”
The stadium complex is being built as part of the city's Harvest Point development near Lone Star Road and Texas 360 and is expected to open by 2026. Mansfield voters approved funding for the stadium in May 2023. The Harvest Point development will also include housing and retail. , family entertainment, hotels and conference centers, entertainment venues, etc.
Mayor Michael Evans said: “We know the stadium plan has the potential to evolve Mansfield's relationship with sport, from a destination for youth athletics to a destination for professional activities.” Ta. “It makes sense to partner with decorated and experienced organizations like REV Sports Management and FC Dallas to ensure the stadium provides the All-Star experience the community expects.”
Jimmy Smith, FC Dallas' chief operating officer and chief financial officer, said he is partnering with Mansfield and REV to move north, especially since the World Cup will be held in nearby Arlington in 2026. He said he is excited to bring more soccer fields and training facilities to Texas.
“With the FIFA World Cup coming to the region in 2026, we want to provide access to fields that will deliver a quality soccer program that will introduce the sport to the local community and help foster a love of the beautiful game. is important,” Smith said.
The city is currently working with REV and FC Dallas on the stadium design, and said additional details, including construction schedules and facility renderings, will be announced in the coming months.
