LOUISVILLE, Colo. — A special education teacher at a Louisville school has been placed on administrative leave following an incident with a student that led to criminal charges, according to a message to parents Thursday.
Principal Robin Tekmansky said in a message that Monarch PK-8 teacher Matt Hill, 43, was charged with a misdemeanor count of child abuse, intentionally/recklessly causing injury other than SBI (serious bodily injury). He said that
Techmanski said the school took immediate action after learning of the incident and notified police. Mr. Hill has been placed on paid administrative leave.
“We are sharing this information with our school community today because safety and transparency are top priorities for our schools and the Boulder Valley School District,” the message reads.
Tekmanski said he could not release any further information at this time, citing the ongoing police investigation.
