RENO, NV (COLORADO) – Michael Gassaway grew up loving theater and has always been inspired by the amazing costumes that parade across Nevada stages over the years. He started designing Mychol Xander Bow Ties because he wanted to bring a touch of great stage look into people's daily lives.
He stopped by Morning Break to share his thoughts that dressing up with a great bow tie isn't just for special occasions or formal events, it can be worn anytime to make every day special.
Many of Mychol Xander's bow ties are made from innovative and luxurious fabrics sourced from New York and San Francisco. Gasaway's hand embroidery and beading are combined with Swarovski and Preciosa Austrian crystals, respectively, to create unique accessories not typically found in traditional menswear.
His years in retail management also gave him a deep love of visual merchandising and window displays. Every time he releases a new capsule collection of ties, he creates a short video with a window display celebrating the new collection.
His Holiday 23 window display was just honored in March's VMSD magazine, a trade publication for retail designers and visual display artists. His designs were featured right next to Tiffany and Bergdorf and his Goodman.
