Lakeshore Savings Bank donated $10,000 to help with start-up costs for the new medical entity.
The funding, provided by the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York's Small Business Development Grant, will go to Community Inclusion, Inc., doing business as TRC Community Health Centers. This funding will cover a portion of the cost of establishing the TRC Community Health Center as a specialty clinic focused on providing quality health care to all people in the community, regardless of their ability to pay. The clinic will specialize in treating people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The practice currently operates under the auspices of the Resource Center. The Resource Center plans to transfer its primary care, school-based health center, dental and podiatry services to the TRC Community Health Center on May 1, 2024. The resource center will also continue to operate other clinical services, including behavioral health, occupational therapy, and medical care. physical therapy, and speech therapy.
TRC Community Health Centers focus on serving people with disabilities, but also treat community members without disabilities. Current patients in the Resource Center's primary care, school-based health center, dental and podiatric services will automatically be transferred to the TRC Community Health Center for treatment. Both the Resource Center and TRC Community Health Center will operate from the clinic's current locations at 880 East Second Street in Jamestown and 186 Lake Shore Drive West in Dunkirk.
