Kuehne Nagel announced at a groundbreaking ceremony that it will build a new fulfillment and distribution center in EZ Dubai, a dedicated e-commerce zone in Dubai South, close to Al Maktoum International Airport and connected to Jebel Ali Port via a bonded logistics corridor.
The new centre's location and connectivity will serve as a hub for trade across the region, providing customers with easy access to a range of logistics solutions. Exemptions from customs clearance procedures within the bonded logistics corridor ensure efficiency and reliability of operations.
“With the development of this new e-commerce fulfilment centre, Kuehne + Nagel continues to demonstrate its commitment to the UAE and Dubai and to supporting one of the world's fastest growing economies,” said Lee Ions, GCC+ cluster managing director at Kuehne + Nagel. “This new facility will make it easier for our clients to do business in Dubai and the region.”
Mohsen Ahmad, CEO of Dubai South Logistics District, commented: “We are pleased to witness the groundbreaking ceremony for Kuehne + Nagel's new facility, which will bring significant added value to the logistics sector. We are committed to strengthening the company's expansion and growth through our advanced services and solutions, contributing to positioning Dubai as a global logistics hub.”
Jonathan Emery, CEO of Aldar Development, said: “In line with our strategic focus of delivering Grade A facilities to local and international logistics providers, we are pleased to extend our development expertise to create a state-of-the-art fulfilment centre for Kuehne Nagel in Dubai South, one of the UAE's most well-connected logistics hubs.”
The new fulfilment centre has been designed to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver requirements and will provide more than 23,000 square metres of state-of-the-art warehouse space equivalent to approximately 45,000 pallet positions. A range of value-added services will also be available to customers. The centre is expected to be fully operational in Q2 2025. The site has been developed by Dubai South and Aldar Properties.
