The Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE) received the National Association of Systems of Higher Education (NASH) Scaling for Change Award for developing the nation's first state-wide scholarships for displaced populations. did.

“We are honored to receive this award, but this program would not be possible without the members of the General Assembly who had the vision to fund the program, the campuses who were committed to the success of the program, and the Kentucky institutions of higher education. “We are grateful to the aid agencies who helped create and implement the program, and to NASH for their continued support and expertise,'' said Thompson.
KyHAS is helping to shape statewide support for forcibly displaced people and improving access to education and workforce development. During her two years, more than 530 of her students representing 39 countries benefited from the scholarship program. Funding has been renewed for her next two years.
Kentucky was also recognized by NASH for its student transfer efforts. Beth Collins, Ph.D., a senior researcher in her Kentucky Student Success Collaborative for CPE, received the Testing for Change Award on behalf of her CPE's pivotal role in shaping her NASH model of improvement science. did.
Collins is one of four recipients who served as the inaugural system leader for the Relocation NASH Improvement Community (Relocation NIC), leading a campus team that completed change testing to improve relocation outcomes. is. Collins has also been part of a team that has provided guidance to her team on over 15 new systems and continues to contribute to the evolution of the NIC model.
