Kulgam/Katur, July 8: Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organisation (JKTPO) continues to boost economic growth in the region with successful e-commerce onboarding activities in Kulgam and Kathua.
These initiatives, organised in partnership with local government bodies and e-commerce operators, aim to promote local products and educate entrepreneurs on the benefits of selling online to expand their reach on a global scale.
In Kulgam, the event held at the DC office saw active participation of over 200 entrepreneurs including women entrepreneurs, retailers, artisans, exporters, growers and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs).The activity immediately facilitated the onboarding process of 50 participants while the remaining participants started the registration process.
The session led by industry experts highlighted the benefits of e-commerce platforms and underscored JKTPO's efforts to empower local exporters and enhance market access.
Dr. Bashir Ahmad Lone, General Manager, Kulgam District Industries Centre, enumerated the benefits of being part of the e-commerce network and highlighted the pivotal role of digital commerce in business growth. The event also featured informative presentations on platforms such as GeM and insights on GST compliance from Maqbool Shah and Gulzar Ahmad Mir.
The event, held at Gatti Industrial Area in Kathua, was attended by 80 people including representatives from Handicrafts and Handlooms (H&H), Self Help Groups (SHGs), FPOs and manufacturers.
DIC Kathua GM, Prem Singh along with representatives from GeM, ONDC and JKTPO facilitated a discussion on e-commerce integration strategies. Thirty participants participated and contributed to the economic diversification efforts of the region.
