As artificial intelligence (AI) news presenters begin to enter the Indian television news industry, Kannada channel Power TV has launched South India's first AI news presenter. The management appointed her AI presenter Soundarya and her first news show featuring her was aired on Tuesday.

Several other channels in the country have also developed their own AI-powered news presenters. Recently, an Odia channel called OTV launched the state's first AI news presenter Lisa. Lisa took the internet by storm after her flawless news presentation in both English and Odia impressed many people.
In March, India Today Group launched the country's first AI news presenter Sana on its Hindi channel Aaj Tak. Although there is a long way to go before seamless AI news presenters replace human news presenters, AI enthusiasts are calling this an interesting development in Indian television journalism.
