A touch of white introduced in 1974 Matra MS670B Decorating the cockpit, the Matra logo is clearly visible on the nose. “We were inspired by the depth of blue from the 1970s, which feels very modern,” says Paul, who drives the LMP2 prototype alongside Job van Uytert and Reshad de Gers. Lafargue explained. “They adopted a metallic look reminiscent of the Matras of the time, with white on the side panels and cockpit. At the time, green, red and yellow stripes were used to make them stand out. Their success and popularity To celebrate our success, we chose gold. We had a hard time deciding whether to go for a modern look befitting the LMP2 or a vintage feel that emphasizes its historical aspects. We chose a blend of both. I think this car stands out on the track. I like the result. It feels luxurious and makes me feel proud to drive it. We didn't aim for something completely different. Our goal was , was to rekindle the flame. We wanted the coloring to be in line with modern tastes and the makeup to be firmly up-to-date and in line with today's discipline.”
The #17 Ligier JS P320-Nissan of Patrice Lafargue and Dino Lunardi competing in the Michelin Le Mans Cup also sports the same livery. “It's great to see a car in this livery,” enthused Rebirth boss and Matra owner Gregory Trebaol. “our Partnership with Retromobile It's starting to take shape. The past is part of the present. There's plenty of room for growth, but after 50 years, it's satisfying to see Matra back in action with his ELMS and his 24 Hours of Le Mans. I'm sure this unveiling marks the beginning of a great relationship with his fans. ”
