West Ham are facing a clear problem. David Moyes' performance helped the team move up to 6th place, but his style of play was not good enough.
There's a really negative vibe around them right now. Will Moyes stay or leave? It looks like he can go because his contract hasn't been released.
I went to the game against Arsenal and it was a terrible performance. Credit must go to Arsenal, but six goals was very worrying and the 15 minutes just before half-time were abysmal.
Moyes hasn't been treated very well in terms of support, but I think he's done an unbelievable job and he said, 'Let's not forget that.' He was very frustrated after the game against Arsenal and you can see why. But again, the players have to take responsibility. It wasn't a good enough performance.
At times they conceded too many goals, which is not typical of Moyes' team, but they were in 6th place and it wasn't enough. They currently sit eighth, level on points with the Europeans, but there is a huge negative vibe around the place.
If I were Moyes, I would shake hands with the club and say, “Thank you, it's clear that no matter what I do, I can't please everyone, you haven't given me a contract.'' , why don't you put someone else in my place? ”
I know it's a tough job, and I know he's not quitting, and I know he's not quitting, but I have to be realistic.
If you say they won sixth place, gave them the European title, he won that trophy and still hasn't signed a new contract, I think that's just a mixed message. It could have been put to bed sooner, but the supporters started gathering even faster. All he has to do is wish them well and say, “Let's move on.''
He's a great manager with great experience, but I'd be surprised if this situation turns around.
The fans are paying, so let's bring in someone who can give us a better style and see what happens. It is now up to the clubs to make that decision.
