Northeastern Wisconsin Regional Health Education Center has a new location.
The group held a ribbon-cutting ceremony at its new office on York Street in downtown Manitowoc.
Executive Director Kari Mueller thanked the staff who helped open the office.
“They paint here on the weekends.” she said. “We continue to move and today (February 8) we have undertaken a number of initiatives to make this happen.”
The group's goal is to connect students to medical careers, professionals to communities, and communities to better health through partnerships with academic institutions and community organizations.
Moller said much of their work is done in Sheboygan and Manitowoc counties.
“It's about working with post-secondary institutions to provide opportunities at the high school level and then looking beyond post-secondary.” she explained.
“Therefore, once our youth and young adults enter the health care field, we must provide them with professional opportunities to continue their schooling and ultimately advance their careers.”
Muller said the organization is very excited to move forward and begin working with the coalition across the state as well as locally in Manitowoc.
