Leicester City midfielder Harry Winks says winning the Championship with the Foxes makes this season the best of his career so far.
Winks, 28, has made 46 appearances for the club since signing from Tottenham Hotspur last summer.
He started in Spurs' 2019 Champions League final and the 2021 EFL Cup final, which they lost, but Leicester won their first trophy with a 3-0 win over Preston on Monday night.
“This is something I've always wanted to experience in my career,” Winks told BBC Radio Leicester.
“Personally, this season was the best for me. I loved every moment.”
Winks played a key role at Spurs, particularly under manager Mauricio Pochettino, and was first selected for the England squad in 2017.
However, while he won 10 caps for his country, he suffered a long-term ankle injury that kept him away from the club for a period of time.
great team bond
Some may have been surprised to see them drop into the second tier along with Leicester, but Winks have benefited from a sense of unity under manager Enzo Maresca, who led the club's return to the Premier League.
“I can't stress enough how important it is to have a good team and good personnel in a 46-game season,” he said.
“We have a lot of that. I loved the team bond and the style of play. That was perfect for me.”
“I hope that continues next season and it's important to celebrate now.”
