Swiss tennis legend and philanthropist Roger Federer, one of the greatest male athletes in the history of the sport, will address the Class of 2024 at Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, June 9th. He will be awarded an honorary doctorate.
“There's no doubt that Roger Federer is one of the greatest athletes of all time, but it's the obvious joy he always felt on the court that sticks with me, and that's what resonates most with the Class of 2024. “I think it will be,” said Chairwoman Sian Leah Beilock. “I think this ability to find joy in effort, even in the moments when victory doesn't come easily or at all, is especially important to his long-term success and to what he is now. “I would argue that this is one of the keys to his ability to selflessly contribute to the causes that mean the most to him. We are excited to welcome him to campus.”
