Told. Last spring, Rice spoke to students in kindergarten through second grade with her original book titled “Hank's Forever Home.” Courtesy of private donations to GSDEF, each child received a copy of the sequel book.
GSDEF Board Member Diane Andrews also spoke about the Glendale One Book Program, which will be held this spring. This year's book title is “Bad Apple, A Tale of Friendship.” Kindergarteners and their first graders enjoy apple-themed activities, applesauce treats, and hear stories from this year's books.
Andrew's family donated applesauce treats for the students.
In addition to this year's literacy program, GSDEF is exploring fundraising opportunities to install book vending machines in elementary schools.
The GSDEF Scholarship Committee spoke about multiple scholarship opportunities for Glendale seniors. All Glendale seniors are encouraged to browse all of her 2024 scholarship opportunities available on Google Classroom. The application deadline is approaching.
